Is the grass greener?
We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us. – E. M. Forster
It is such a shame, because California should be one of the greatest places in the world to live. The weather is wonderful most of the year, 20 minutes from Laguna Beach isn’t too shabby either. Not to mention extraordinary natural beauty the state has. The coastline & the mountains it is without a doubt a two for one. Living on the East Coast it’s either one or the other.
Buuuuuuut on the other hand;
California has the highest marginal tax rate in the entire country. Starting to think we may just be renters for life with the absurd housing costs. I mean the median home value in the state is now more than half a million dollars, twice as high as the national average.
The wildfires. Borderline panic attack a few times this year.
Schools = indoctrination, along with medical tyranny. My kids will be homeschooled indefinitely.
Nancy Pelosi and her nephew Governor Gavin Newsom. Odd how that worked out.
Much of the population is openly hostile to those that identify as conservatives. I’ve been flicked off, beeped at even hollered at for a political bumper sticker.
Last but not least everyone here is waiting on “The Big One”. The earthquake they say, will be unlike anything we have ever witnessed, and the death toll will be unimaginable.
Is this grass greener elsewhere? I don’t know. What I do know is that since the virus it has been a challenge to live here with the constant stay at home orders, curfews and other everyday closures. Only time will tell what our future holds….
