Christmas at Nana’s

Every Christmas Eve we would head off to East Rochester to Nana’s house. Far different from my Dad’s Italian side of the family with the traditional Italian American Holidays. She would have a buffet of appetizers, finger foods, and oven hot snacks! The one thing I hated the most was making these garlic cream cheese celery sticks. Only because of my hands would touch cream cheese. But when they were ready to eat I would forget how my hands felt, they are that good!
Here we are making the best of this “stay home quarantine” life. Using everythig we have in the fridge and pantry before it expires. Today I felt like the celery needed to eaten or it would go bad. Side note to bring the celery back to life: cut it up and put it in ice cod water and back into the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Recipe at the end.

This is one thing that we didn’t have growing up…just being my extra self!
RECIPE:
Christmas at Nana’s:
Ingredients:
1 bunch celery
1 block cream cheese (room temp)
Garlic Salt
Garlic Powder
Paprika
optional: Trader Joes everything but the bagel sesame seasoning blend
Directions:
Throughly dry each piece of celery. Cut to your liking. With a knife or spoon spread the cream cheese onto each piece. Sprinkle each seasoning to your liking. Serve immediately or refrigerate for an hour to serve cool.

Thanks for reading! More quarantine snacks to come, stay home to stay tuned!
